How do I recertify, and what are the requirements?
CPRP status will be valid for three years from the date of completion. Renewal is required before your expiration date. A renewal application must be submitted along with a $25 recertification fee.
The continuing education requirements to renew your CPRP certification are as follows:
- CPRP: Obtain a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education (CE) during the three-year period since you earned or previously renewed your certification. The content of the education must align with the AAPPR Competency Model.
- CPRP-DEI (applies to CPRP-DEI exam passers only): Obtain 3 hours in DEI-focused education (in addition to the 24 hours outlined above).
You can complete the 24 continuing education credits at your convenience during the 3-year certification period. AAPPR credits (from annual conferences, webinars, etc.) are automatically added to the professional development section of your profile on a monthly basis. You may log continuing education credits from AAPPR roundtables and other education programs whose content aligns with the AAPPR Competency Model as you earn them. I need to retake the CPRP exam. What should I do?
CPRP learners who have previously purchased the full CPRP education and certification program and need to retake the CPRP exam can purchase an additional exam attempt for $75. Those who have not yet earned their certification should purchase the full CPRP education and certification program in the Academy.
If you have exceeded the 90-day CPRP renewal grace period, you are required to take the examination again (for a fee) in order to re-earn the credential. You may purchase one CPRP exam attempt, but if you do not pass, you must take the full CPRP course in order to recertify.
How do I check my CPRP certification expiration date?
Log in to the AAPPR website and click on "My Chat Profile" in the gold bar at the top of the page.
You will see your CPRP expiration date listed there. If you just earned your certification, it could take 4-6 weeks for your profile to be updated with your expiration date.
You can also check your expiration date by logging in to their BadgeCert account at https://badgecert.com/. Certificates are typically available in BadgeCert within 30 days of earning or renewing your CPRP certification.
