Many factors have impacted provider compensation over the past several years. To name a few – Medicare Physician Fee Schedule changes, COVID, volatile survey data, rising inflation, physician shortages, greater consolidation and competition, and the list goes on! This session will focus on identifying external forces that are pressuring provider compensation and what healthcare organizations should do to combat those pressures. A properly structured compensation plan is imperative to future success in both recruitment and retention.
Stephan Ross
Vice President

Stephen Ross, a vice president with Coker Group, has over 20 years of industry experience successfully leading health system strategy and business development. His work encompasses mergers and acquisitions, physician practice/health system integration, medical staff development, physician compensation plan design and advisory, and organization strategic financial performance.
Stephen specializes in assisting healthcare organizations in hospital-physician alignment transactions, physician needs assessments, compensation valuation, strategic service line evaluations and business planning, and financial performance improvement. He has extensive experience with independent practice and health system-employed multi-specialty practice strategy, physician and medical staff development, Stark, Anti-kickback, and related services.
He is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA) and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE). He is also certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Thomas Edison State College and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Ohio University.
Taylor Cowart

Taylor Cowart is a manager with Coker’s financial and hospital operations services division. She works predominantly in the financial and alignment services section, providing clients with consultative assistance for alignment and integration, financial analyses, compensation design, and service line development. Ms. Cowart also works heavily with accountable care era response and preparation, helping clients respond to value-based reimbursement changes and developing population health management strategies. Her extensive experience in healthcare consulting includes the hospital administration arena, particularly in credentialing and privileging management.
