ACCOMMODATIONS FOR EXAMINATION CANDIDATES WITH DISABILITIES
AAPPR is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and ensuring equal access to our examination and certification program. We provide appropriate and necessary testing accommodations for candidates with documented disabilities, where the disability impacts the candidate’s ability to take our examinations under the standard terms and conditions of our respective examinations. Candidates may contact AAPPR at info@aappr.org to request an accommodation.
All decisions regarding testing accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis. The information and documentation provided to AAPPR must both confirm and establish there is a current substantial limitation in a major life activity related to ability to take our examinations and provide a rationale and an objective basis for why the requested accommodation is necessary. Once the specific accommodations are identified and arranged, AAPPR will notify the candidate and provide further instruction using a templated letter.
To learn more to apply for accommodation(s), the candidate must:
- Submit documentation from an appropriate licensed professional to AAPPR that includes a diagnosis of the disability and specific recommendations for accommodations that is rational and has an objective basis;
- Indicate whether they have received the same or equivalent accommodation being requested in other similar prior testing situations; and
